January Happenings

The third weekend in January our little family and my sister finally make it up to Topeka to finish celebrating Christmas with my parents and brother. There was still a lot of snow on the ground there; where back at home it had all melted away. Elaina had fun playing in it with Grandma and Auntie Tina. She threw quite a fit when they took her back in because she was having so much fun:) Grandma and Grandpa Wesley got her a rockin' horse for Christmas. It didn't take her long to figure out how to make it go. When we got it home and put it on the wooden floor she really started rocking on it. The video at the end shows what else she's learned to do on it:) The last weekend of January my folks came to visit us to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday. We had alot of fun shopping, eating, watching the K-state vs. KU game, seeing more family, playing cards, and getting pedicures! Elaina came down with a cold which turned into her first ear infection, so she was needing lots of cuddling time with Grandma and Grandpa. The cake below was a fun undertaking I found out of a Pampered Chef cookbook. It was amazing! Thanks mom for sharing your birthday with us!

Elaina snuggling with Grandpa when she was under the weather. Notice the baby peeking out:)
My beautiful mother celebrating her 50th birthday!

Had to show off the flourless chocolate cake I made for my mom. It almost looks like the picture.

She crawled up into the blocks table by herself and is trying to get into the TV cabinet.

My John Deere man!

Fun in the snow with Auntie Tina!

Oh, this was so fun!
Taking Elaina out in the snow and pulling her along in the sled was a blast! She really loved it.

We sang, "Jingle Bells" while being pulled in the sled. Good times. Thanks for posting that picture, sis, I like it a lot. :) Yay for beautiful, sweet, and fun nieces!
